Dr. Peter Kruger graduated as a doctor from the University of Stellenbosch in 2002. He practiced family medicine from 2006 - 2009 in Alberta, Canada and then proceeded to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Alberta.

He completed a 2 year fellowship in Urogynecology and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Toronto where he developed expertise in the management of complex urinary, bladder and pelvic floor disorders as well as endoscopic management of benign gynaecologic conditions like uterine fibroids and endometriosis and other advanced laparoscopic procedures like complex hysterectomies, tubal reversals and laparoscopic cerclages.

Dr. Kruger’s practice focusses on General Obstetrics, Minimally invasive gynaecological surgery in the field of general and urogynaecology.

​

Dr. Kruger also did weekly outreach in the informal settlements surrounding Cape Town when he was still working there.

​

He is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada, the American Society of Advanced Laparoscopy as well as the International Urogynecological Association.

He was a board member of the South African Society of Reproductive Medicine and Endoscopic Gynaecology. He served as fellowship director for Urogynaecology at the University of Cape Town from 2016-2018. 

​

He relocated to Edmonton in 2018 and currently works at the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton. He served as the assistant program director for the University of Alberta's Ob/Gyn residency program from April 2020 -April 2022. He became an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Alberta in July 2022. Dr. Kruger shares a private practice with 10 other Obstetrician/Gynaecologists at the Edmonton's Womans Health Centre.
